Hello all,

I'm struggling (surprise surprise, I know) to update Enlightenment and wondered
if any of you kind souls wouldn't mind helping out...

Enlightenment 0.15.5 is the version that came with my distro (SuSE 6.2), and I
thought I'd update to 0.16.3. I needed to update my versions of a variety of
things and so duly downloaded freetype-1.1, audiofile-0.1.9, esound-0.2.17,
imlib-1.9.8, fnlib 0.5, eterm-0.8.10, and enlightenment-0.16.3. I un-installed
all my old versions of the above packages and started the installation of the
new. I installed freetype, fine no problem, I then installed imlib - again
fine(?), but when I ran ./configure for fnlib it responded by saying that it
hadn't detected imlib. At the enlightenment web site the answer is to make
sure that older versions of imlib/fnlib aren't present, that's all it has to
say on the subject. I've tried installing the packages in various orders,
but no luck. So, to confirm that absolutely nothing remained of older
versions, I backed everything up and formatted, and then installed a
small/default system without any of the aforementioned packages. Again, it
halted at the same stage. I'm trying to install them in a directory "elibs" in
/usr/lib. Could anyone point out the bleedin' obvious to me?

Thanks

Harvey Kelly
