Re: Kernel compile problem
Hi Al,
It was a precompiled kernel I used, the latest one for the 2.2.14 kernel. It
didn't appear to give any errors and, in the past when things have gone
wrong with the compile, it simply hasn't made a zImage, so I assumed that
everything had worked correctly. I suppose I shall just have to bite the
bullet and start again. At least you can do this without wrecking the whole
machine!! Now, if only there were a handy set of help sheets for error
messages! ;o)
You give the impression you don't like RTlinux, a lot of people seem to have
problems with it but the installations I've done have all worked first
time - until now. I think it is more sensitive to odd hardware than plain
linux and this is probably the cause of a lot of the problems. My previous
installations have all been on the 2.0.36 kernel so maybe the 2.2.* one
isn't as friendly.
