If you want to demo KDE or Gnome then it's best to get something a bit
quicker.  You might also want to demo Hylafax and Star Office so that
means at least 250MHz and 64Mb of RAM.  128Mb would be better.

If you just want to show black screen or FVWM or Blackbox (or similar)
WMs then you can just get a 100MHz machine with 32Mb of RAM.  

If you demo these things it's best if your machine works a little bit
quicker than the MS Windows laptop that's on the table next to it.
