It looks that the problem is in the name resolution. You'll
probably need to tell windows that 192.168.1.2 is equivalent to brass.
Unless you have a nameserver running, your windows box will know nothing
of the other box (unless you kindly tell her, that is :D).
The network seems to be fine, as packets get from one place to
another. As for the Win configuration, I'm afraid I can't help at all.
