Isn't that only for NFS shares? I've actually included the line "smbmount 
\\\\server\\shared /mnt -W workgroup -N -n linux2" in my 
/sbin/init.d/boot.local file and put a link to /mnt on my desktop. 
Everything works fine but if you think that's not the correct way to do it 
and can suggest something more appropriate please feel free. I'm still not 
into the finer points of scripting.
