well, that may be so, but: if I boot win2k without the memory hole
everything freezes a second after the sound card starts producing sound,
and with the memory hole there is no problem (aside from incompatibility
with Linux). But this is getting off topic and I guess most of you won't
be too pleased with a thread discussing windoze details...

well I didn't even like the look of the slot (nasty big brown thing) to
tell the truth--and only one of them :)
