Do you mean the disk is broken?... That's a bit funny, isn't it:-( Well,
thanks for letting me know, otherwise I would probably spend hours and
hours trying...

Thanks for offering CD's! I've got (apart from SuSE 6.3 evaluation)
RH-6.2, Debian 2.2 r0, Corel 1.0 (from CheapBytes) - perhaps enough to
play with for the moment:-)... That's not my main problem now though
anyway:-( The main one - waiting for a reply from Andre Hedrick re: IDE
bus mastering for Triton, in particular Viglen's Morrison (Intel Aladdin /
Advanced/AL / Morrison64) motherboard. It doesn't work whatever I do:-(
And another thing about upgrading - perhaps I over-did this too, e.g.
upgraded to gcc-2.95.2 and glibc-2.2, which wasn't perhaps a very good
idea, and what's even worse - both from source (not RPMs):-( Don't have
any problems for now, but if I ever wish to try 2.4.0 -... Any ideas how
to downgrade? Haven't looked at it in great detail yet. glibc doesn't have
make uninstall - that's for sure. Not sure about gcc. Re-installing older
version of gcc from the CD on the top of a new one doesn't seem to be a
good idea either.
Anyway, thanks for help, nice to know I am not the only one 'on' Linux in
Sheffield:-)

Oh, lots of things:-))... Will tell you when something particular springs
to mind:-)
Happy New Year to all
