[Sheflug] Voodoo 5000

Has anyone tried using a Voodoo 5000 or 5500 PCI (or AGP, but mainly PCI) with XFree86 3.3.6? 4.x? How about glide?

Thing is, at the mo they are only 100 quid, and I thought that since I've only successfuly run ONE game (yes, one) with my TNT2, I'd go for a voodoo, as I have had glide working before when I had a voodoo 4Mb card.

I only got quake 3 to work after several months of torment. SHOGO, Heavy Gear, Descent 3, Tux - A Quest For Herring, they don't want to know. Incidentally, I stuck my voodoo 1 card along side my TNT2, and all the above worked first time, just a little slowly. Also, the passthrough cable cause a little, yet noticable, smudginess on the screen.

So, any help gratefully appreciated!
