Re: [Sheflug] Optical mice

Hello

Are there any optical mice/mouses/meeces (whatever) out there that are
(a) really good with any Linux distro
(b) to be avoided.

Does this piece of hardware have any problems?

I would avoid buying any really cheap (sub £5) as I've been burned before. I found that really cheap opticals just don't track on anything and you are better off with a ball mouse. Logitech and Microsoft make very high quality mice. I also had a good experience with Chic.
The opticals should work with any Linux distro without too much trouble. My Chic and Logitech were both autodetected when I plugged them into the USB and worked great. If you plug them into the PS2 port they'll behave to the computer as any other ordinary PS2 mouse.
