Re: [Sheflug] Re: bounce
As it happens...... I've just set up the free AOL 50-hr 24/7 trial on the
wife & kiddies pc. Amazingly, when I sent myself a test mail to my linux
account, it was in (cue dramatic music)...plain text! I'm gobsmacked - I
expected HTML & loads'o'fluff. Even more amazing is the fact that, once I
finally tracked down the fact that there was a dll conflict in Win95 which
stopped dns working, it actually worked a treat on the web.
Having been a user of AOHell way back when Tux was still an egg I'm well
surprised. My current offpeak free ISP (Libertysurf) looks like they'll be
closing the shutters shortly, so AOL looks to be the best 24/7 deal around
which doesn't impose draconian cut-offs (eg.TheFreeInternet).
AOL have produced a beta of their system for Linux - I'll report back my
experiences, if I actually track down a copy.
Seize ya next Saturday, hopefully :)
