[Sheflug] Oh... Wonder Wot That Is ??

Dear All

Anyone know what this might be about ?

If I leave my gateway machine alone for a few hours and then come
back to it and connect it to the net I find that it gives me a few
PROTO 1 or even 17 DENY messages in /var/log/messages which are
produced by the firewall.  Output is set as DENY.   Any explanation
for this ?  SuSE 7.0.

Other thing is that after connecting a few times I get another error
message in /var/log/messages which says that the machine has tried to
connect automatically a few times but can't do that because I've set
it to manual connect.

Is there some reason why it's frantically trying to connect all of
the time ?

I'd really like to set it to auto connect but until I can find out
what's going on here I can't do that.  A 24Hr a day and seven day a
week Home Highway bill isn't the kind of thing that I'd like to
receive in the post.

I have noticed a few error messages under squid but I've not set up
DNS or squid so that doesn't make any sense at all.
