This usually means the lock file created by a program using the /dev/ttyS0
device has not been removed at the time of killing the program process. The
lock file usually sits in the "/var/lock/" directory and is usually called
"LCK..ttyS0" or something similar.
If you are sure no process is using the device in question (you have killed
it or it has crashed without removing the lock file) you may delete the lock
file with impunity.
