OK. I built a smaller (500k instead of 900k!!) 2.4.0 kernel with
support for ReiserFS and my Promise controller.
The drive I want as /boot (/dev/hdx1), / (/dev/hdx6) and swap
(/dev/hdx5) runs happily as /dev/hda, however, once I move the drive
across to /dev/hde (on the ATA100 controller) it gets stuck on LI at the
LILO prompt...
I've tried to write LILO a couple of times, and it isnt having any of
it. I'm gonna try a few more things, but I think it's wierd. I've been
writing LILO to /dev/hde for about a month now without any hassles!
Ack, well. I'll let you know how I get on. I guess the moral of this
sorry is that boot disks are good.
