Just do it ;) Swap them over, boot to linux (linux root=/dev/hde1), and
it'll (probably) bring you to single user mode when it realises it can't
mount swap.. hehe..
Otherwise, boot to Tom's, mount /, change fstab, unmount, swap, reboot,
voila...
